Build One Thing (buildonething.com) is run by Paul Graves in Dublin, Ohio, USA. This page explains, in plain words, what information the site collects, why, and what choices you have.

What we collect

• Your quiz answers. While you take the quiz, your answers are saved in your own browser (localStorage) so you can come back to them. They stay on your device unless you send them to us.
• Your email and quiz result, if you give them. When you ask us to email your result, join the list, or ask for first access to the Full Plan, we receive your email address, your quiz result and your quiz answers, including anything you typed in your own words.
• Button clicks. If you click the $199 Full Plan button, we record that click along with your quiz result and answers (and your email if you already gave it). Nothing is charged.
• Basic visit statistics. Which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, device and browser type, and actions like starting the quiz or downloading a PDF.
• Your light/dark mode choice, saved in your browser.

The services we use

• Formspree receives the forms you submit (email, result, answers) and stores them so we can read them. Formspree privacy
• Google Apps Script (a Google service) sends you the email with your result when you ask for it.
• Google Analytics 4 measures visits and actions using cookies or similar technology. Google privacy. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on.
• GoatCounter counts page views in a privacy-friendly way, without cookies. GoatCounter privacy
• GitHub Pages hosts the site and may keep standard server logs. Google Fonts serves the fonts.

We do not currently use Facebook/Meta, Google Ads or other advertising tracking pixels. If we start advertising and add one, we will update this page first.

How we use it

• To email you your result and tell you when the Full Plan opens.
• To understand which parts of the site help people, and improve them.
• To shape the Full Plan using what people tell us they need.

We don't sell your information. We don't share it except with the services above that run the site.

Your choices

• Every email we send has a way to stop more emails, or you can just reply and ask.
• You can ask us to see or delete what we have about you by emailing paulgravesjr@gmail.com.
• You can clear the quiz and theme data saved in your browser at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
